A Barking & Dagenham Councillor has completed the first leg of his bid to clock up 100 charity kilometres. Councillor Ahammed has signed up to ten runs in his quest to clock up 100k for charity.
Labour Councillor for Longbridge ward Syed Enam Ahammad completed the 10k London Winter Run 2015 on Sunday in aid of Cancer Research UK. He completed his run in 1 hour 6 minutes and 43 seconds.
Councillor Ahammad works as a Gateway Assessor and Advisor at the Citizens Advice Bureau. He said: “I’m really pleased to have participated and my training has really helped me prepare for this run. This is a proud moment for me and my family. I will now focus on the nine runs I have left and request the support of the residents of my ward and also our greater community. Thank you to everyone for the kind words and support.”
